Citgoing, going, gone
The last bit of the Citgo sign was removed yesterday, as part of an $8 million project to make it more prominent, by moving it roughly 120 feet on a base that will be 30 feet higher. But that will take six months, so in the meantime, we have just the big unblinking "Whoop" sign. Photos of the Citgo sign's deconstruction.

A Boston man with a long record pleaded guilty this week to a variety of charges related to an incident last Sept. 25 at the South Bay TJ Maxx, when he stole $40 worth of stuff, dared store security officers to call the cops and then, when they did, he punched one, then got into her cruiser and tried to make off with it, but had trouble and grabbed the officer and slammed her head into the windshield, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
