Robby Roadsteamer, a frequent participant in anti-fascist protests in Boston, showed up in Portland today in a giraffe outfit to dance and sing with the Portland Frog outside that city's ICE fortress and promptly got grabbed by three federal "police" officers armored up for an assault on an enemy bunker - two to drag him behind a security gate and the third to point a gun at people dressed like dinosaurs, chickens and Left Shark. Update: He was released after an hour.

Boston Police report five men have been formally charged with attacking two men walking on River Street near Edgewater Drive in Mattapan on Sept. 13, one with a baseball bat.

Sticky Rice opened in 2011, replacing the King, which served Middle Eastern food and which, in 2009, replaced Samia's, which also served Middle Eastern food.

The Boston Fire Department reports an electrical fire around noon in the basement of the Houseman Medical Research Center, 778 Harrison Ave. in the South End, sent smoke throughout the BU Medical School Building, but did not result in any injuries....

Transit Police report that on Sunday a man "suffering from a mental health crisis" at the Malden Center Orange Line stop contacted them seeking help - for him and for his five pet lizards. Police report "a determined TPD sergeant" tracked down an animal-rescue group that could take and care for the lizards.
