A federal judge yesterday granted a Lexington father a preliminary injunction that requires his young son's public school shield him from any books or lessons that involve what the man considers un-Christian same-sex relationships and parenting. Read more.

Police, EMTs and firefighters responded to the Residences at the Mandarin Oriental, 778 Boylston St. in the Back Bay, on a report of somebody jumping around 9:40 p.m. The person was declared dead at the scene.

Police shut Boylston Street in the area of Fairfield Street.
