The Dorchester Reporter reports that plans to replace today's diesel-powered Fairmount Line trains with battery-powered units that could reduce pollution and noise and increase service have been pushed back from 2028 to at least 2030. The T says the delays are to get the manufacturer to make the new cars easier to use for people with mobility issues.
