A Boston federal judge today dismissed a request by "Justice" Department lawyers that he force Massachusetts Secretary of State Bill Galvin to give them the names, addresses, license numbers and partial Social Security numbers of every registered voter in the state, telling them that next time they try something like that, they need to meet the basic requirements of the law they claim gives them the right to that data.

MBTA and Boston transportation planners told Cleveland Circle residents today they're hoping to use a planned C-Line repair shutdown next month to fill in and smooth out the worst of the potholes that have made the Brighton intersection a menace to anybody who tries to traverse it, ideally to buy enough time until 2028, when the T is planning a massive, 18-month track reconfiguration to prepare for the new mega-trolleys the T is buying.
MBTA sells $1.4 million worth of soccer-inflated tickets to and from Foxborough

The MBTA reports that it sold 17,450 roundtrip tickets yesterday - at $80 a piece - for its train service to and from Gillette Stadium, or as the world will call it, Boston Stadium, for five World Cup matches.

The Boston Licensing Board today granted 11 establishments with beer-and-wine licenses permission to start selling harder drinks as well - and approved an all-alcohol license for one brewery.
