The Boston Fire Department responded to Danny Road in Hyde Park for a water-main break, possibly in a pipe feeding a hydrant, that sent water flowing down the street toward the intersection Reynold Road around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday. Boston Water and Sewer was requested to fix the problem.

NBC Boston assigned Mary Markos to Lynn to cover the storm, which, as required by longstanding journalistic principles, she had to show viewers just how deep the snow was. She could've gotten all boring and just brought a ruler, but Lynn is where they make Fluff, so she bought a tub of the stuff and planted it on the ground and reported as the snow rose and rose and rose, until all that was visible was the tub's red cover.

Transit Police report they are looking for a vaper with fists of fury, who decided the way to react to a fellow Blue Line rider asking him to stop vaping near Wood Island was to punch him in the face - as the victim's young daughter watched -  around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 15.

More problems on the Blue Line.  Bright and early at 5:24 a.m., the MBTA sent out an alert: A "power problem" between Bowdoin and Aquarium meant starting the day with 20-minute delays.  The T announced at 6:20 a.m. that that was cured, just in time to announce at 8:42 a.m. yet another signal problem, this time at Airport.
