Eversource and National Grid, joined by the smaller Fitchburg-based Unitil, yesterday sued the American subsidiary of Hydro-Québec for shutting off the flow of electricity during a cold snap across eastern North America this past winter - just eight days after a new transmission line meant to bring clean, cheaper hydropower into Massachusetts. Hydro-Québec fired right back with its own suit.
